Peter Zivanovich

Watsonville

Peter Zivanovich is a judo instructor at Claudio Franca Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in Watsonville, California. He began his judo journey in 2017 and earned his black belt in March 2024. He is currently working toward his second-degree black belt while continuing to develop both his technical knowledge and teaching ability.

Peter is passionate about sharing the principles that make judo more than a martial art. He strives to instill the philosophy of Seiryoku Zenyo—the principle of maximum efficiency with minimum effort—helping students apply its lessons both on the mat and in everyday life. He believes that judo builds confidence, resilience, discipline, and respect, creating stronger individuals physically, mentally, and morally.

As an instructor, Peter is committed to creating a welcoming environment where students of all ages and abilities can learn, grow, and challenge themselves. Whether someone is stepping onto the mat for the first time or pursuing advanced ranks, his goal is to help every student become a better version of themselves through the practice of judo.
