Tony Currupio Solinas

Watsonville

Mestre Tony “Currupio” Solinas began learning Capoeira in Santa Cruz in 1993. He quickly became deeply involved in training, teaching, and presenting Capoeira, along with its many Brazilian folkloric expressions. He and his lifelong teacher, Mestre Itaborá Ferreira, shared a passion for hard training, percussion, and performance—elements that Mestre Tony fully embraced and thrived on.

Now, having returned to live and work once again in the Pajaro Valley, Tony is committed to sharing Capoeira and its culture with the Claudio França Watsonville Academy. His class offers students of all levels and ages the opportunity to learn and experience Capoeira as both a beautiful art of expression and a serious method of self-defense.
